The Gentlemen Baristas launches in Vinegar Yard

Well-mannered coffee connoisseurs, The Gentlemen Baristas, have opened a coffee house in Vinegar Yard, the brand-new eating, drinking, shopping and art space in London Bridge.

The Gentlemen Baristas have taken over a beautifully crafted wooden pitch within Vinegar Yard to become one of the few permanent residents in the space. Alongside their drinks menu, which focuses on signature coffees crafted using beans from their dedicated roastery in nearby Shadwell, The Gentlemen Baristas are also offering al fresco barbecued breakfast rolls and a brunch and lunch menu from early morning to late afternoon, served seven days a week.

The Gentlemen Baristas coffee house is positioned right in the heart of Vinegar Yard alongside neighbouring bars, artwork and fellow street food traders. Their pitch features one counter facing inwards to Vinegar Yard’s huge open-air garden area with seating for hundreds, perfect for dining in or a quick grab-and-go coffee, breakfast roll or lunch, and another counter facing the refurbished on-site warehouse. The warehouse building has indoor seating overlooking celebrated artist Joe Rush’s live workshop, where you can watch Joe and his team from behind a glass screen developing monumental works of scrap metal and discarded tools.

Since launching in 2014, The Gentlemen Baristas have strived to recapture the spirit of the coffee houses of old, where manners, service and community are at the heart of the coffee experience and their new site will be no exception to that. Co-founders Edward Parkes and Henry Ayers are bringing their characteristic service-led approach to Vinegar Yard, focusing on a welcoming breakfast and lunch spot with quality coffee and other hot
drinks served with old fashioned good manners.
Guests can enjoy an extensive brunch menu that balances breakfast classics with other inventive dishes, served alongside their specially created sauces such as cold brew ketchup and roasted tomato relish. The outdoor barbeque will be fired up first thing in the morning for breakfast rolls, just in time for the British summer time.

Dishes include:

Avocado on toast with sumac, dukkah and herbs

*

Cowboy beans with smoky house beans, chorizo, peppers, spring onions, sour cream and sourdough

*

House Banana Bread with whipped espresso cream

*

Sausage patty & egg roll w/ cold brew ketchup or roasted tomato relish

*

House potato rosti & egg roll

*

Granola, pastries, cakes and slices

For lunch, The Gentlemen Baristas will also offer a range of regularly changing salads, which can be mixed up according to preference and can also available to take-away. Rotating salads include the likes of Broccoli with pea, feta, red chilli, poppy seed and rocket and the Kohl-Slaw, with kohlrabi, carrot, red cabbage and parsley.

On the opening, Co-founder Ed Parkes adds:
“We’re always looking for creative and inspiring venues to bring our unique style of well-mannered coffee to and we couldn’t be more excited to get going!”

The Gentlemen Baristas at Vinegar Yard, London Bridge is the 8th opening after a 7th site opened its doors at Flat Iron Square earlier this month.
